Documents Required To Open Demat Account
Individual Demat Account
Opening demat accounts have become very easy. Individual investors can either opt to open demat account online all by themselves or with the assistance of our representatives. However, the documents required for Demat Account opening remains the same for both processes which are as:
- PAN Card (mandatory requirement for all investors except for individuals exempted from obtaining PAN (listed in Section D)
- Aadhaar Card
- Passport size photograph
- Cancelled personalized cheque (or more than 3 months of bank statement)
Joint Demat Account
Individual investors can also open joint demat accounts. A demat account can have maximum three demat account holders of which one is the main account holder and the other two are joint account holders. Documents required to open joint demat account are:
- PAN Cards of all account holders (mandatory requirement for all investors except for individuals exempted from obtaining PAN (listed in Section D)
- Aadhaar Cards of all account holders
- Passport size photograph of all account holders
- Cancelled personalized cheques of all account holders (or more than 3 months of bank statement)
Once all the required documents are submitted, the account will be closed within 5 working days.
While submitting the documents please ensure:
- All the dues are cleared.
- All forms are dully filled and signed.
- All holders have signed, in case of joint accounts.
Corporate Demat Account
Corporate houses, organisations, partnership firms, companies, etc. can also participate in the trading instruments of the financial market. The process of opening the corporate demat accounts are simpler than ever. Documents required to open demat accounts (corporate) are:
- Duly filled demat account (corporate) opening forms
- Duly filled KYC forms of each holder
- Photograph of each holders/signatory, signed across the photograph and form
- Pan Card copies of each holder and company
- Address proof copies of each holder and company
- Cancelled personalized cheques of all account holders (or more than 3 months of bank statement)
- Copy of Balance Sheet of the Partnership Firm for the last 2 Financial Years (IT return declaration for new companies)
- Aadhaar Cards copies of each holder
- Duly filled annexures
- FATCA Declaration
NRI Account
Non Resident Indian (NRI) can invest in different segments of the Indian financial market and require a NRI demat account in order to do so. Opening NRI demat account is now a simple process and the required documents to open NRI demat account are:
- Duly filled KYC form
- Photograph with signature of the holders across the photograph
- Self attested copy of Pan Card
- Self attested copy of address proof (foreign as well as Indian)
- Self attested copy of passport front (page with photo) and passport last (page with address)
- Self attested copy of the passport page with India visit stamp from immigration
- Self attested copy of visa/residence permit/work permit
- FEMA Declaration form
- NRO/NRE Bank proof
- NRO Special Investment/ PIS account Proof
- PIS letter
